It begins with a mood, a thought, some kind of feeling, a piece of lace that I came across and almost any other thing that caught my eye during the day or night…and turns into a journey of scrapbooking, legwork, fittings, pictures, and anything else until the gown is perfected!
I go through a journey with every dress in the studio, into myself, into my imagination and dreams and then I ask myself, who will be the bride that will breathe life into this dress?
What will she bring with her to this dress, what will the dress give to her?
Where to place the lace, should there be parts of the dress left bare? In addition, if so, where? What should the length be? How should it sit on her body perfectly, and accentuate the important parts of her body?
These are some of the questions that I ask when I do the actual design of the dress, because in the end each dress will be worn on a bride, and she needs to feel that it is part of her and not something that causes difficulty to wear. In addition, the excitement that envelops her wedding day should be accompanied by fabrics that are comfortable and high quality, that the bare parts should sit on her body in exactly the right place and that the dress should be comfortable and one of a kind.
With much love,
